ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAPTER
Greetings fellow Chapter members-
First of all, I would just like to say it is truly a blessing to be serving as president of the FBINAA Rocky Mountain Chapter representing the states of Colorado and Wyoming. As it states on the website, FBINAA’s forty-eight Chapters, forty-four domestic and four internationals, are the heart and soul of the FBI National Academy Associates. It is at the chapter level where our members and their families are professionally, socially, and personally linked to each other and their region’s law enforcement leadership network. I find it a great honor to be a part of this association and the ability to partake in all it offers both professionally and personally. Exciting news! After a strong presentation from Past President John Burbach, the Rocky Mountain Chapter was selected to host the 2023 FBINAA National Conference, which will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The board strongly encourages that each of you represent your agency by getting involved in this incredible opportunity we’ve been given. Currently, a conference committee has been formed and will meet regularly throughout the year. There are still plenty of committee positions available and the next planning meeting is scheduled on February 10, 2020 at the Colorado State Patrol Academy. I am very pleased to announce that this year’s fall conference will be held in our beautiful mountains, specifically Glenwood Springs, in September of 2020. Special thanks to Secretary/Treasurer James Jensen who has been working diligently to organize this conference and all our luncheons as well. His commitment to the Chapter over these past years is nothing short of amazing.
On behalf of the board members, I want to send out a special thanks to all hosting agencies for stepping up to the plate and providing luncheon venues scheduled every other month throughout 2020! These luncheons are a great networking event. Your participation equals the strength of our Chapter. Mark the luncheon dates on your calendar and let’s fill these venues! The Chapter Board manages several opportunities for our youth within our communities. One such opportunity is the FBI Youth Leadership Program (YLP). The board selects a young person with outstanding academic achievement who demonstrates community work and involvement. Captain Leroy Mora will be our YLP Selection Committee chair for 2020. You can contact Captain Mora with any questions you may have about this program. The process for this program is also outlined on our website. Lastly, I would like to thank you for continuing with your membership and participation within our Chapter. We are part of an outstanding fraternity that provides incredible opportunity’s for networking and support.
