Motorola Foundation Grant to Support Officer Safety & Wellness Training

Quantico, VA - The Motorola Solutions Foundation announced today that the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) was awarded a grant in the amount of $25,000 to provide its Officer Safety and Wellness Resiliency Training Course: Comprehensive Officer Resiliency Train-the-Trainer Program to law enforcement agencies throughout the world. The FBINAA is proud to be part of the Motorola Solutions Foundation’s network of partners as they continue to support innovative public safety, technology and engineering education programs across the globe.

“Our brave officers and other public safety personnel confront danger on a daily basis in order to keep our communities safe from harm,” said Johnnie Adams, FBINAA President.  “We must ensure that police departments have the necessary resources to perform their duties safely and effectively but to also equip public safety leaders with the ability to change the culture within their organization surrounding behavioral health issues. With the financial support of the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the FBINAA can provide training to save lives, families, and careers of police officers around the globe.”

The Comprehensive Officer Resiliency Train-the-Trainer Program is a three-day training program developed to provide public safety leaders with the ability to change the culture within their organization surrounding behavioral health issues.  The goal of this training program is to promote an environment for well-being among our first responders which ultimately affects officer performance, safety, and attitudes.
